Downtown Portland Streets

Photographing downtown Portland was a unique challenge as I was only using my 50mm fixed focus range lens at 2.5 minimum aperture for every image, meaning I can’t zoom in or out, and have to use my feet only to line up the shot. On top of that, a 1x1 square image, which makes the composition more challenging allowing me to delve into the architectural soul of the city where old meets new in a seamless urban tapestry with surfaces, patterns of reflections in the glass, and the life that moves around and within these structures. What an amazing location to walk around with a camera. Whether you are a local or visitor, I encourage you to look at Portland through any lens you have, and you will find stories and beauty in the most unexpected places.
